National Nurse Aide Week is June 13-17. Of course, Williamsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center enjoyed this week because we have so many wonderful Nurse Aides to celebrate!
Throughout this fun-filled week, Williamsburg HRC staff and residents played games, had a cookout, and presented each Nurse Aide with an award. We also presented them with gifts of appreciation from our friends at My Favorite Things gift store in Lexington.
Each day of the week was themed with a different decade, from the 1950s to the 1980s.
For 1950s day, we celebrated our Nursing Assistants with a sock-hop complete with burgers, fries, and root beer floats.
Following that was 1960s day, full of 60’s trivia, music, friendly game of team Jeopardy, and a costume contest.
The next day was themed “Disco Days,” with a leisure suit relay. Staff enjoyed snack time, which was hand delivered on a silver platter, by our fantastic Director of Nursing, Joy Petrey.
Ice cream sundaes and “big hair” finished out our 1980s days! The Nursing Assistants had so much fun with daily trivia and door prizes.
Our facility is so blessed to have the best and most dedicated Nurse Aides. We appreciate each of them very much!
Williamsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center is located in Southeastern Kentucky, near the beautiful University of the Cumberlands campus.
